Latest WWF report on the socio-economic impacts of future changes in biodiversity and ecosystem services
Ecosystems and the biodiversity that underpin them are our life support systems. But the impact of declining trends in biodiversity and ecosystem services (BES) on economies and society is not well known. WWF has initiated a project to help tackle this challenge. Its goal is to generate new evidence on the potential global socio-economic impacts of future changes in BES.
Phase 1 of the new WWF project, carried out by Jennifer Hauck von CoKnow, Neville D. Crossman, Onil Banerjee, Luke Brander und Peter Verburg aimed at scoping the current state -of-the-art in BES-economy modelling and research, and to identify what new modelling and analyses should be prioritised to fill key knowledge gaps and deliver critical evidence at key points in time.
